Questions concerning the SOQs in this RFQ must be submitted in writing or email by the Last Day for Statement of Qualifications Questions date as indicated in the Important Dates section of the RFQ. This project is part of the second phase of the newly established GALA site (formerly Lanterman HS) to align the facility to capacity demands including support spaces, specialty classrooms, and outdoor areas that support GALA instructional and extracurricular programs. This next phase of the project includes the delivery and permanent installation of 8 new relocatable classrooms and relocation of 1 chemistry classroom and 1 relocatable restroom building in the existing parking lot including all associated landscaping, hardscape and parking adjustments. Upgrade 2 existing restrooms, 1 classroom renovation and 1 conversion of existing space into teacher's lounge in bldg. 1; minor interior improvements in classroom 23 in bldg. 4. Abatement, demolition and removal of 3 existing non-DSA certified relocatable classroom buildings. Construction of a new parking lot which includes security improvements, but not limited to, sanitary sewer, water, storm water, and electrical utilities. In accordance with the provisions of Public Contract Code section 3300, OWNER has determined that the CONTRACTOR performing this project must hold the following license as the prime contractor: B - General Building Contractor. Failure to possess the specified license shall render the bid as non-responsive and shall act as a bar to award the contract to any bidder not possessing said license at the time of award. No bid will be accepted from a contractor who has not been licensed in accordance with the Contractor's State License Law, Business and Professional Code Section 7000 et seq. The Bidder will enter into a Construction Contract with the District for a lump-sum, fixed price contract for the construction of the Project. This project is bond funded and is subject to the District's PSA and prevailing wage requirements. Use of SBE/Local Worker/We Build/VBE Compliance: The District has adopted SBE and VBE participation programs. The District has established goals of 25% participation by certified SBEs, including microbusinesses, and 5% participation by VBEs, in the total contract amount. SBE, Micro-SBE, or VBE certified subcontractors, service providers, and material suppliers at all tiers may be counted in achieving these goals, but amounts passed through such certified SBEs and VBEs to non-SBE or non-VBE contractors, service providers, or materials suppliers shall not be counted in achieving participation goals.
