Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a bridge / tunnel in Glastonbury, Connecticut. Completed plans call for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel; for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel.

The Town of Glastonbury will receive on-line bids to perform dismantling, removal, and disposal of the existing pedestrian bridge superstructure and designing, fabricating, furnishing and installing a replacement prefabricated pedestrian bridge superstructure attached to the existing bridge abutments with reconstructed anchor bolts. The replacement prefabricated pedestrian bridge superstructure shall resemble the attached original bridge plans in terms of make, general appearance and aesthetic appeal. Each Bid must be accompanied by a bid security in the form of a Bid Bond, certified in an amount not less than 10% of the base bid except as otherwise expressly provided in the Instruction to Bidders. The successful bidder will be required to provide performance and labor and material payment bonds in the full amount of the agreed contract price. A 100% Performance and a 100% Payment bond are required of the successful bidder. Bidders are further advised that this project is subject to the prevailing wage requirements of Connecticut General Statutes Section 31-53. Bidders are also hereby alerted to the schedule requirements as outlined in Special Conditions Section 11.00. The Town of Glastonbury is An Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer. The Town reserves the right to amend or withdraw this Invitation to Bid for any reason, to accept or reject any or all Bids, to waive any informalities or non-material deficiencies in any Bid, and to make such award (or make no award) of a contract in connection with this Invitation to Bid all as determined by the Town, in its discretion, to be in the best interest of the Town. A Bid may be rejected for irregularities of any kind, including without limitation, alteration of form, additions not called for, conditional proposals, and incomplete Bids.
