The Metropolitan Knoxville Airport Authority (MKAA) is requesting Proposals including Statements of Qualifications (SOQ) from interested and qualified organizations for Construction Manager at Risk (CMaR) services to support the Terminal Area Development Program (TADP) expected to be undertaken at McGhee Tyson Airport (TYS). TYS is one of the fastest growing commercial airports in the United States, and TYS's existing terminal facilities are projected to be inadequate to serve the traveling public in the near future. Therefore, MKAA is embarking on a significant construction program to expand and renovate its terminal facilities and ancillary facilities to accommodate projected passenger growth at TYS. This program has been designated by MKAA as its Terminal Area Development Program ("TADP"). TADP is expected to have four primary components - expansion of the security checkpoint facilities: expansion and renovation of energy facilities, expansion of the airport terminal and other renovations to the terminal and expansion and improvement of adjacent apron facilities. As design for the TADP program proceeds, other components of the TADP may be needed. The CMaR that is selected based upon this RFQ will be expected to assist with the entire TADP.
