The Village of Oswego is seeking professional tree pruning services to maintain and enhance the health, safety, and aesthetics of approximately 19,000+ parkway trees. The selected contractor will perform all necessary pruning activities according to industry standards, municipal regulations, and specific guidelines. Activities include pruning and removing all dead, dying, or diseased branches; providing 12-foot clearance over paved roadways and 10-foot clearance over public sidewalks; pruning interfering branches within a 5-foot radius of street lights where practical; balancing trees to avoid large holes in their form; and conducting further trimming if directed by the Village Arborist. Site cleanup includes disposing of all debris generated, ensuring all work areas are clean and safe, raking lawns, sweeping paved areas, and not leaving logs for residents. The contractor is responsible for cleaning up fluid leaks from equipment and all debris requiring additional trimming prior to payment. All pruning work must follow the latest ANSI A300 standards, comply with local codes, and adhere to Village Arborist guidelines. No climbers may use spiked shoes or climbing irons. Traffic control must comply with Illinois and Village regulations. Contractors must be licensed, maintain proper insurance, and employ certified arborists. Work begins upon contract approval, is expected to be completed monthly with locations provided by the Village, and continues throughout the three-year term, with options for two one-year extensions. The Village may modify or cancel work if the timeline is not met. Pricing is based on diameter at breast height (DBH) per tree, according to specified ranges. Project areas and tree lists are subject to change as notified by the Village Arborist.
