The scope of work for the project includes the following: - Base Bid: Pit Track Maintenance and Tub Crossing Installation, which involves the removal of approximately 1,500 track feet of existing rail and ballast section only and replacing it with new rail and ballast; and the removal of approximately 460 track feet of existing rail, ballast, and asphalt section at two on-grade asphalt crossings and installation of two tub crossing sections as per manufacturer specifications. - Additive Alternate 1: Warehouse 8 Track Maintenance, involving the removal of approximately 540 track feet of track, ballast, and asphalt section and replacement with new rail, ballast, and asphalt. - Additive Alternate 2: Ladder Track Maintenance, involving the removal of approximately 787 track feet of track and ballast, installation of new rail and ballast, and the removal and installation of four turnouts. - Additive Alternate 3: Fishmeal Track, involving the removal of approximately 939 track feet of track and ballast and installation of 936 track feet of track and ballast. Bids will be received for a single prime construction contract and all proposals must be lump sum. Bidders must clearly indicate on the outside of the bid envelope, the project name, their North Carolina General Contractor's License Number, and specify that the bid is for "Single Prime Bid." The owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities.
