The general scope of the work for this project includes: replacement of 36” steel primary influent pipe from Headworks to primary clarifiers with FRP; preparation of approximately 1650 LF of 54” reinforced concrete pipe and Primary Diversion Structure for condition assessment by others; installation of new magnetic flow meter on 36” steel pipe; hypochlorite mix box improvements; demolition of existing Pond 4 polymer tank and installation of new polymer tank. All of the work is to be done at the specified locations, with the specified materials, sizes, and dimensions as shown on the approved plans and specifications. Instructions to bidders include: sealed bids must be received prior to the specified deadline; attendance at the mandatory pre-bid conference and site visit is required; all contractors and subcontractors must be registered with the Department of Industrial Relations; compliance with prevailing wage laws and other labor requirements is mandatory; each bid must be accompanied by a certified check or bidder's bond in an amount not less than ten percent of the bid; successful bidders must submit required bonds and insurance within ten days of notification of award; the Contractor must possess a valid Class A License; and bids must guarantee the total bid price for ninety days from the date of bid opening. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any informality in a bid. Bidders may propose equals of products listed in the plans and specifications, subject to Owner review. Bids must be developed and submitted at the bidder's own expense. Supplemental site visits must be scheduled at least two business days in advance.
