Bartow County will accept sealed bids for the rehabilitation of two existing bridges located on Cassville White Road. The project consists of rehabilitating two undersized bridges with substandard widths near the I-75 Interchange, by replacing the superstructures only with a proprietary Sandwich Plate System (SPS) superstructure tied to new wide flange beams. The substructure of the easternmost bridge will require minor modifications including new wing walls and caps on all four corners. Additional work includes minor ancillary road and pavement construction such as guardrails, markings, signage, debris removal, and additional pavement widths for approximately 250 feet on both sides of both bridges. The work must be completed within a 92-day summer timeline upon receipt of a Notice to Proceed. Each bid must include a Bid Bond of 5% of the bid amount. Both a Performance Bond (100% of contract price) and a Payment Bond (110% of the Performance Bond) are required. Proof of General Liability and Worker's Compensation Insurance is required with Bartow County as an additional insured. Bidders must be prequalified contractors or registered subcontractors with GDOT. All contractors and subcontractors must comply with nondiscrimination, legal employment verification, and supply chain requirements as specified. All required affidavits and forms must be submitted with the bid. Submission instructions specify that all blanks on the Proposal must be correctly filled for each Pay Item, and calculations must adhere to the stated rules. Bids may not be withdrawn for 60 days after opening. Bartow County reserves the right to reject any or all bids and waive technicalities or informalities. The work shall be completed within the May 1-July 31 timeline.
