The San Bernardino City Unified School District is requesting bids from qualified contractors to remove and replace the basketball poles at the following locations: The project sites will be is located at San Gorgonio High School, Pacific High School, Serrano Middle School, and Del Vallejo Middle School. This is a CUPCCAA bid subject to prevailing wage. Only vendors/contractors that were previously approved and currently listed on the District's Informal CUPCCAA list are eligible to bid on this solicitation. Request for Clarfication: January 29, 2026, 12:00pm The San Bernardino City Unified School District is requesting bids from qualified contractors to remove and replace the basketball poles at the following locations: The project sites will be is located at San Gorgonio High School, Pacific High School, Serrano Middle School, and Del Vallejo Middle School. 1. Project Overview The Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, tools, transportation, and supervision necessary to remove 32-existing basketball posts and install new basketball posts at designated school sites. The total quantity to be replaced is 32 posts. Work shall comply with all applicable codes, regulations, district requirements, and manufacturer specifications. 2. Project Locations Work will occur at (4) - school sites as identified by the District. A final list of addresses and quantities per site will be provided at the pre-construction meeting. (see attached plot plans - Exhibit B - Plot Plans) (14) San Gorgonio High, (8) Pacific High, (1) Serrano Middle, (9) Del Vallejo Middle: TOTAL=32 Contractor is responsible for coordinating site access and scheduling with each school's administration. 3. Scope of Work A. Pre-Construction o Attend a kickoff meeting with District representatives. o Perform site inspections to verify existing conditions, utilities, post dimensions, and installation requirements. o Provide submittals for all materials, including: o Basketball posts (model, dimensions, gauge) o Concrete mix design o Asphalt patch material o Submit a project schedule showing installation sequencing by site. B. Removal of Existing Equipment o Remove existing basketball posts, footings, and related hardware. o Excavate and remove concrete foundations as required for new installation. o Properly dispose of all removed materials off-site at Contractor expense and in accordance with local laws. o Ensure safe site conditions during removal operations, including fencing or barricades. C. Installation of New Basketball Posts 1. Install 32 new basketball posts, including: o Galvanized Steel round post, 5-9/16" Diameter. o Option 1. 5-9/16" ROUND Structural steel tubing: Steel, mechanical, round tubing conforming to ASTM A513 with galvanized zinc coating conforming to 905x3xxxx3611111 Informal Bid No. CUPCCAA-2026-6 Basketball Pole Replacement at Four School Sites Page 5 of 42 ASTM A653, Designation G90 o Option 2. 5-9/16" ROUND SCH40 Galvanized fence posts or equivalent 2. Posts shall be installed plumb, level, and centered according to manufacturer and District specifications. Sufficient to provide [10 feet] [3048 mm] rim height and at least 36 inches [9157 mm] minimum foundation embedment. (Typically, the post needs to be 12' to 12'-6" high from the finished surfacing to set rim height at 10' using the PORTER bracket system) (See Exhibit A - Specifications) 3. Install new concrete footings at each post location: o Depth and diameter per engineered design (see detail sheet) 24"w X 42"deep o 3,600 PSI (minimum) concrete or as specified o Proper curing and finishing 4. Ensure all equipment is anchored securely and meets safety and playability standards.
