UMMARY OF PROJECT A. The Project intent and scope of work are described as follows" 1. The Franklin City Temporary Courthouse project consists of the design, construction and commissioning of a temporary facility to provide full operational capacity for judicial functions during the construction of the new permanent courthouse building. The project is located within a former Social Services Building, which has been unoccupied for an extended perios. The existing structure will be repurposed and renovated to meet all functional, security, and accessibility requirements for temporary court operations. 2. The project involves the interior renovation of the existing Social Services building with a total area of approximately 7,554 square feet. The work includes, but is not limited to selective demolition of interior non-load bearing walls. Removal of existing finishes, fixtures and equipment as indicated on drawings. The new work will include construction of new interior partitions, installation of new doors, frames and hardware. New ceiling system, floor finishes and wall finishes. 3. A more secure exterior parking area and sallyport are provided for secure judge/clerk parking and police parking. 4. New systems including mechanical, plumbing, electrical, lighting, security and access control will be include. The security, cameras, and access control devices will be provide separately by the Owner’s vendor, but work will be coordinated with the General Contractor to coordinate and to provide concealed conduits and pathways for their security and access control devices. The design will include coordination with the door hardware and conduit/boxes/pathways to the devices. 5. The building is fully sprinklered and the existing sprinkler system will be modified and extending in the renovated spaces of the building as indicated. B. Work Covered by the Contract Documents: 1.
