St. Charles County has the right to accept and/or reject any and all bids. Scope - Remove and replace all slate roofing and all associated copper details as described within the "Specifications and Roof Plans" for this project. This includes, but is not limited to, slate shingles, inlaid gutters, downspouts, flashings, counter flashings, and copper wall and dormer panel assemblies. Please note: The existing copper finials located at the four corners of the building will be carefully detached and reset. These finials are not to be refabricated or replaced, and the Contractor shall exercise appropriate care to preserve these historic elements during removal and reinstallation. The scope of the Repairs Bid shall include, but is not necessarily limited to, the following items: o Removal and replacement of up to 140 individual slate shingles exhibiting breakage, cracking, splitting, loss, displacement, or other forms of deterioration. o Removal and replacement of the copper-lined gutter troughs, including detachment and resetting of the slate courses necessary to allow access for proper installation. o Detachment and resetting of slate shingles as required to facilitate the removal and replacement of copper valley flashings.
