The general nature of work includes furnishing all labor, equipment, and materials necessary for the construction of the NE 17th Water Main Replacement project. Primary items of work include constructing 646 feet of 8-inch PVC, 108 feet of 6-inch PVC water pipe, asphalt patch trench, fittings, reconnecting water services, and miscellaneous other items. Bid proposals must be submitted in a sealed envelope plainly marked with project name, bid date and time, "Bid Proposal, Bid Bond and Certificate of Residency," and the bidder's name. Each bid proposal must be submitted on the forms prescribed by the city and accompanied by a proposal guaranty (certified check, cashier's check, or bid bond) equal to ten percent of the total amount bid. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a bond equal to one hundred percent of the amount bid for faithful performance of the contract. Bidders are required to conduct a field review of the project area on their own to acquaint themselves with pertinent conditions prior to preparing and submitting their bid proposal. Bidders must possess a current set of the 2024 Oregon Standard Specifications for Construction and the Oregon Standard Drawings (English), published jointly by ODOT and Oregon APWA. The contractor must comply with the provisions required by ORS 279C.800 to ORS 279C.870 (Prevailing Wage Rate). The city may cancel this procurement or reject any bid that does not comply with all prescribed public bidding procedures and requirements.
