The District's Contract Bond Estimate is $125,565,000.00 The Los Angeles Unified School District is seeking a qualified general-building contractor to execute a $125.6 million, best-value, lump-sum construction effort to rebuild the Marquez Charter Elementary School after the Jan 2025 fire. The scope includes demolition of existing structures, construction of five new building components (administration/kindergarten, multipurpose/food service, library, two classroom wings) and a new lunch shelter, full site infrastructure upgrades (sewer, water, storm-water, electrical), and extensive site improvements (accessibility, landscaping, parking). The procurement follows a four-step best-value process (SOQ, Project Plan, Interview, Price) with heavy weighting on experience, SBE/VBE participation, local-worker goals, and safety performance. The contract will be funded by bonds and subject to prevailing-wage and "We Build" requirements.
