Sealed bids are sought for asbestos abatement at Waukegan Public Library, 128 N. County St., Waukegan, Illinois. Removal Specifications can be obtained at a mandatory pre-bid walk through. Bidders must reserve these documents 24 hours in advance and pay a non-refundable deposit for each set. Attendance at the pre-bid walk through is mandatory, and failure to attend will result in disqualification. Each bid must include a Bid Guarantee in the form of a Bid Bond from a company with an A-1 rating, equal to not less than ten percent of the bid. No bid may be withdrawn for thirty days after opening without owner consent. The successful bidder must provide a Performance Bond and a Labor and Material Payment Bond for the full amount of the contract. Contractors must submit a lump sum bid and any requested alternate bids for the entire project, including the cost of required bonds. The Asbestos Abatement Contractor is responsible for all work outlined in the specification not bid as a separate contract but is not responsible for coordinating trades outside of their contract. The owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities in bidding.
