Site work and paving for a bridge / tunnel in Chatham, New Hampshire. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel.

Project: TB-2601 Bridge Approach Construction & Bridge Installation on Corridor 19 Snowmobile Trail in Chatham, NH. Sealed bid proposals in hardcopy form will be accepted until 2:00 P.M., Thursday March 5th, 2026. Proposals must be mailed to the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources. Specifications are available at the Bureau of Trails HQ Office and various online and physical locations. All bidders must be registered as a NH State Vendor and have a certificate of good standing from the NH Secretary of State, Corporate Division. Bid proposals must be completed on the provided forms and submitted in a sealed envelope marked appropriately. Electronic submissions are not accepted. DNCR will provide funding, from funds provided by the White Mountain National Forest, Great American Outdoors Act, for the construction of approaches, abutments, other improvements and installation of two prefab modular bridges all according to site specific plans, to the Corridor 19 snowmobile trail in Chatham, NH. The two bridges (70'x14' & 50'x14') will be purchased by DNCR via a separate RFP in advance of construction using HEB's site specific plans via NH state procurement and delivery will be coordinated with bridge installation by contractor. Contractor will be required to use HEB's site specific plans to install bridges. See attached map for bridge construction site. The two bridges that are currently in place will be removed by DNCR staff (estimated late spring/early summer 2026) prior to construction commencing. DNCR, Bureau of Trails will provide general supervision and administration during the course of the project. The CONTRACTOR will provide construction expertise, skilled labor, specialized equipment, tools, coordination and all other materials required to complete the project as follows: 1. The State of NH has obtained site specific engineered plans for the abutment and approaches designs for construction from HEB Engineers. HEB has obtained Dept. of Environmental Services wetlands permits for this project. 2. The State of NH will acquire two new prefab, modular bridges in preparation for this project. Bridges will be fabricated according to the HEB engineered plans. Bridges will be delivered when contractor is ready to set the bridge. Contractor will be coordinating delivery to coincide when bridges are to be placed on site. 3. The State of NH will remove the two current bridges at construction sites in preparation for contractor. 4. The State of NH & WMNF will provide access to the construction site for all work. 5. Clean-up and restore disturbed areas adjacent to the trail work. Dispose of all materials removed from site. 6. Trail corridor must be graded/leveled and left in a condition capable of being groomed for winter snowmobile use.
