Chickasaw County is seeking bids for Electrical Panels Replacement for two projects at the Chickasaw County Courthouse, 8 East Prospect Street, New Hampton, Iowa 50659. Project #1 (Basement location): - Pull new wire in existing pipe from the MDP in the basement to the panel on the east wall at the bottom of basement stairs. - Wire: 4 #2 THHN copper (3 phases, 1 neutral) and 1 #4 copper ground. - Use existing 100-amp 3 pole breaker in MDP. - Ground wire to be terminated on new ground bar above main panel using a compression connector, bolted to ground bar. - Replace the interior of panel with NEW 42 spaces, fabricate cover or insert, use Square D breakers. - Distance: approx. 40 ft. Project #2 (2nd Floor machine room location): - Remove existing north panel in machine room and locate new panel on north wall. - Pull wire in existing pipe from MDP in basement to NEW 125-amp 24 spaces Square D panel in machine room on second floor via elevator chase, attic, and into machine room (continuous run, no splices). - Wire: 4 #1/0 THHN copper (3 phases, 1 neutral) and 1 #4 copper ground. - Use existing 100-amp 3 pole breaker in MDP. - Distance: approx. 220 ft. - Ground wire to be terminated on new ground bar above main panel with a compression connector, bolted to ground bar. - Refeed south panel with 60-amp circuit from new panel and add separate ground bar in panel, 4 -#6 wires and 1 #6 ground. Projects must be viewed in person before bidding. Work must be completed when the courthouse is closed (night or weekend). All work must comply with National Electric Code. Include any State permit or inspection fees. NO TAX to be charged. Bids are due by 4:00 PM February 6, 2026, to the Chickasaw County Auditor’s Office on the second floor of the Courthouse. Chickasaw County reserves the right to reject any and all bids at their discretion.
