Renovation of a municipal facility in Fresno, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.

Contractor agrees to provide to the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) all labor, equipment, materials, permits, disposal fees, supplies, parts, tools, travel, and incidentals necessary for the removal, disposal, and installation of 17 commercial grade steel, insulated roll-up doors and operators. Question Deadline 01/23/2026 Questions regarding this IFB must be submitted. Bidders must submit their questions via e-mail to Gurinder.Kaur@dot.ca.gov. Written questions must include: the individual's name, firm name, e-mail address and must reference IFB No. 32A0700. DVBE (3%) 1. Contractor agrees to provide to the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) all labor, equipment, materials, permits, disposal fees, supplies, parts, tools, travel, and incidentals necessary for the removal, disposal, and installation of 17 commercial grade steel, insulated roll-up doors and operators as described herein. 2. The services shall be performed at Caltrans Equipment Repair Shop 6, located at 1385 N West Avenue, Fresno, CA 93728. 1) This is a high-volume equipment repair facility. Work benches and equipment between bays may not be moveable. As a result, most work will need to be performed on ladders due to space constraints, with limited access for scissor lifts. 2) Contractor shall perform field measurements prior to all removals and installations. 3) All material staging shall be done offsite and under Contractor's control. B. Removal of Existing Roll-up Doors 1) Contractor shall remove and legally dispose of the existing 17 roll-up doors and all associated hardware. 2) Contractor shall remove the existing roll-up doors in such a way as to minimize damage to the portions remaining on the building. Remaining portions that are damaged by Contractor's operations shall be restored to their original condition at Contractor's sole expense. 3) Contractor shall secure door openings if roll-up door installation is not completed by the end of each working day. 4) Contractor shall not leave any door inoperable while not performing work. C. Installation of 12 New Roll-up Doors at the Main Shop 1) Contractor shall furnish and install 12 new vented commercial grade steel sections doors, with insulation and windows, that match or are equivalent to the existing doors in the Main Shop. Refer to Attachment 3, Pictures of Main Shop Exterior and Interior View. Equivalence shall be determined by Caltrans Contract Manager. 2) All 12 roll up doors shall be approximately 12 feet 6 inches (12'6") in height, by 14 feet (14') wide. 3) Each door shall have four (4) vents in panel number one (1) from the floor. These vents shall measure approximately 18 inches (18") wide by 12 inches (12") high. 4) Each door shall have four (4) sight windows. a) Window dimensions are approximately 8 inches (8") high by 24 inches (24") wide. b) The windows shall be installed in a panel with the bottom of the windows at approximately 52 inches (52") from the floor. 5) All new doors shall have an electric monitored bump or safety reversing edge system. 6) All new doors shall be equipped with a photo-eye system to prevent lowering the door when an obstacle is below it. 7) All new doors shall have a weatherstrip seal at the bottom of the door. 8) All new doors shall have new vertical Jamb Seals attached to the track on both sides of each door. 9) All new door assemblies shall have all new parts installed including motors/operators. 10)All new doors shall be a minimum of 24 gauge. 11)Hardware shall be commercial grade and door locks should be bolt and slide style. 12) Finish shall be the manufacturer's standard baked on polyester or epoxy prime and finish coats, applied to interior and exterior faces. 13)Each door color shall be approved by Caltrans Contract Manager prior to installation. 14) The commercial grade roll-up door assemblies shall be provided as a complete unit produced by a single manufacturer, including frames, sections, bracket guides, tracks, counterbalance mechanisms, hardware, operators, and installation accessories, to suit opening and headroom. 15) Contractor shall install doors, tracks, and operating equipment, complete with necessary hardware, anchors, inserts, and equipment supports, in accordance with manufacturer's installation instructions. 16) After installation, Contractor shall lubricate all moving parts, adjust the tension on the springs for easy operation, tighten all hardware, and perform an inspection and safety check to insure safe and proper operation of the complete door system. 17) Contractor shall ensure all roll-up doors properly close at the end of each day while work is being completed. If not possible, Contractor shall provide some type of security measure while building is open. D. Contractor shall furnish, deliver, and install 12 new Chain Hoist Motor Operators with safety photo eyes and safety edges (these stop door movement against resistance for safety) for doors described in Section C.1, with the following properties: 1) Floor level chain hoist with electrical interlock for emergency manual door operation. 2) Three (3) button control station (with open/close/stop controls). 3) High starting torque continuous-duty motor with overload protection. 4) 24 Voltage Alternating Current (VAC) control circuit for safety. 5) Adjustable friction clutch to prevent damage if the door is obstructed. 6) Limit switch to stop the door at the open/close position. 7) Self-locking drive mechanism. E. Installation of five (5) New Roll-up Doors at the Warehouse 1) Contractor shall furnish and install five (5) new non-vented non-insulated commercial grade steel sections doors, with windows, that match or are equivalent to the existing doors in the Warehouse. Equivalence shall be determined by Caltrans Contract Manager. 2) Four (4) of the five (5) roll-up doors mentioned in Section E.1 above shall be approximately 12 feet two inches (12'2") in height by 17 feet eight inches (17'8") wide. 3) The last roll up door shall be approximately 12 feet two inches (12'2") in height, by 14 feet (14') wide. 4) Each of the five (5) doors shall have four (4) sight windows. a) The window dimensions shall be approximately eight inches (8") high by 24 inches
