The District of Houston is seeking a knowledgeable and experienced General Contractor who understands the risks of demolition and replacement of concrete over active refrigerant pipes. The work, as noted in the documents is expected to commence in April after ice programs have completed and achieve Ready-for-Takeover by mid-August 2026, at the latest, for commencement of the next ice program season. Bonding will be required for this project. The contract will be a CCDC 2 2020 with BCDC 2 2022 supplementary conditions. The District of Houston is soliciting general contractors with knowledge and experience in the risks associated with refrigerated arena slab concrete remediation. The District of Houston (the "District") is looking to remediate the existing refrigerated floor perimeter slab (only), at the Claude Parish Memorial Arena in Houston BC, in the spring. The purpose of this opportunity is to receive a stipulated sum price for the work based on the drawings and specifications attached The contracted work will generally include: Removal of complete arena boards, including framing and glass, and store on-site for re-installation; remove or cutback existing specific wood framed bleachers, platforms, railings, timekeeper booth, and players and penalty boxes. Saw cut perimeter concrete slab and thickening, taking care not to damage ice rink concrete slab. Provide a new cast in place concrete perimeter slab and related specific hardware. Reinstall completed arena boards including framing and glass, and make good all bleachers, platforms, railings, timekeeper booth, and players and penalty boxes.
