The work includes rehabilitation and improvements to the existing wastewater treatment system, the sewage pumping system, and the sewer gravity system located in the City of Port Gibson, Mississippi. The base bid includes installation of new aerators at the wastewater treatment facility, levee repairs at the lagoon, improvements to the chlorine contact chamber, and membrane liner anchorage repairs. The alternate bid work includes sludge removal, dewatering, and offsite disposal, as well as pumpstation rehabilitation and collection system rehabilitation along Dorsey Lane. The contract time is one hundred eighty (180) consecutive calendar days, with substantial completion required within one hundred fifty (150) consecutive calendar days. Liquidated damages will be $250 per consecutive calendar day thereafter. Minority and women's business enterprises are solicited to bid as prime contractors and are encouraged to inquire about potential subcontracting opportunities. Opportunities must also be provided for job training and employment to lower income residents of the Section 3 area as described as the City of Port Gibson, MS. Contracts should be awarded, to the maximum extent feasible, to business concerns located in or substantially owned by persons residing in the Section 3 area. The City of Port Gibson reserves the right to waive any and all informalities in the bid process and to reject any and all bids.
