Demolition, site work and new construction of a mixed-use development in Oakland, California. Completed plans call for the construction of a educational facility; two-story above grade, 16-room educational facility; and educational facility.
This is the Final Bid effort for Coliseum College Preparatory Academy (CCPA). Overaa was awarded a Progressive Design Build (PDB) contract with Oakland Unified School District for this referenced project. Final proposals are requested from all trades involved in the work. The project design has been submitted to the Division of State Architect (DSA) for review. There are two separate increments: an early Site Package and a larger Building Package, which also includes sitework that will occur later in the schedule. Pricing should reflect the current design, criteria required in the RFP, District Standards, and comprehensive solutions that provide for a complete and compliant project. Constructability input, value engineering, identification of long lead materials for early procurement, and other relevant input are also requested. Scope of Work: Construction of a new two-story classroom building with 14 standard classrooms and 2 science classrooms, a new gymnasium, demolition of the existing gymnasium, and construction of an outdoor plaza. Instructions to Bidders: LBE and SLBE Oakland participation is encouraged, with a 50% Local Business participation requirement for all District Capital Program construction and related professional services agreements (25% or less LBE participation AND 25% or more SLBE/SLRBE participation). Oakland-based firms must be certified by recognized agencies. Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise (DVBE) participation is encouraged. All contractors and subcontractors must agree to be bound by the Project Labor Agreement. Contractors subject to SB 854 must register and renew annually with the California Department of Industrial Relations. Skilled and trained workforce requirements apply. All bidders must complete Overaa's prequalification process. MEP Contractors must also be prequalified with OUSD. ESTIMATED COST OF THE PROJECT: The Board of Education approved construction budget is $56M for the entire Project.
