Bid #6991 is for Building Demolition at Ohio and Erie Canal Reservation, Cleveland Flats. The contract will be awarded in accordance with the bid documents. Bidders must register on Public Purchase to receive all addenda and updates. All bids in excess of $10,000 must be accompanied by a Bid Bond executed by a surety company authorized to do business in the State of Ohio, or a certified check, cashier's check, or money order in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the bid amount, payable to Cleveland Metroparks. The successful bidder must, at the time the contract is entered into, file a Performance and Labor and Materialman Bond in an amount equal to 100% of the contract price. The Work of this Project consists of hazardous material abatements and removal of the vacant former Catanese Classics Seafood buildings containing offices, warehousing and cold storage, retail storefront, and in-water riverfront decking located at 1600 Merwin Avenue in Cleveland, Ohio. The final Work and Project results will be an interim condition intended to ensure the safety of the site while a development plan for the site is developed and executed at a later date. All on-grade and above-grade improvements shall be removed. All below-grade improvements inclusive of foundations shall be removed. A steel column and beam framing support system and decking, including a 4-foot-wide wood boardwalk, soil, and grass, shall be removed. Deck support piles are to be pulled out of the riverbed in their entirety. The site shall be restored to a fenced in and gated, positively draining gravel area. Completion- August 14, 2026
