The site is free of trees and other structures which will not require any clearing or demolition work. The City will provide utilities to the new structure. There is an existing railroad boxcar adjoining the project but there is no work related to the boxcar in this contract. Bid bond/bid security of 5% shall be required with the submittal of bids. A performance bond may be required in accordance with NC General Statutes. Insurance in a form acceptable to the Owner will be required of the successful bidder. Construction Scope of Work The City of Laurinburg is receiving lump sum bids for the construction of an elevated Stage and Roof which will be built on the Citys property at the intersection of Railroad Street and South Gill Street. The site is free of trees and other structures which will not require any clearing or demolition work. The City will provide utilities to the new structure. The bid will include all required permits, materials, and labor to construct the project including but not limited to the following: Site work Provide all equipment, material and labor for excavation, backfilling, and compaction of existing soils and approved fill material. Existing undisturbed soils are located approximately 2 Ft. below existing topsoil. The site does not require an erosion control permit but all BMPs must be used to contain all sediments on site. The general contractor will be responsible for hiring a geotechnical engineer registered in the state of NC to verify and recommend compaction procedures to achieve a minimum allowable bearing pressure of 1500 psf.
