The project consists of the demolition of specified areas of the building on two floors, in accordance with the scope of work and demolition plans in the bid documents. This project will be funded with grant funds received from the N.C. Department of Commerce's Rural Transformation Grant Fund and Rural Grant Programs Fund. Scope of Work: o Demo finish/furring from columns to expose structure, typical on the first and second floors. o On the first floor, demo plaster and furring on the interior side of the masonry wall beside the elevator shaft to expose the masonry. Refer to plan 1/AD0.1 for location. o Demo interior partitions, furring, doors, raised platforms, and plumbing fixtures from the rear of the building on the first and second floors. Refer to plan 1/AD0.1 and 2/AD0.1 for specific locations. o On the first and second floors, demo furring from shaft walls to expose masonry wall. Refer to plan 1/AD0.1 and 2/AD0.1 for locations. o On the first floor, demo portion of wood platform to assess the condition of the structure and foundation. Refer to plan 1/AD0.1 for specific location. o On the second floor, demo a small portion of the brick in the infilled opening location to assess brick condition. Use existing opening in this area as a starting point. Refer to plan 2/AD0.1 and elevation 5/AD0.1 for specific location. o Carefully remove individual tin ceiling tiles to expose second floor framing above. Preserve ceiling tiles on site. Refer to plan 3/AD0.1 for specific location. o Demo drop ceiling at the rear of the first floor. Refer to plan 3/AD0.1 for locations. o Demo false beam on underside of 1x/insulation drop ceiling on the second floor. Refer to plan 4/AD0.1 for location. o Demo 1x/insulation drop ceiling throughout the second floor. o On the second floor, demo 2x2 area, beside column, of boards attached to underside of roof framing, above 1x/insulation drop ceiling. Refer to plan 4/AD0.1 for specific location. o Demo bulkhead and finish on existing beams; If false beams, demo, typical on second floor. Verify with architect prior to demo. Refer to plan 4/AD0.1 for specific location. o Demo ceiling and falling debris at the rear of the second floor to expose the structure. Refer to plan 4/AD0.1 for location. o Properly cap any supply or sanitary lines exposed as a result of the demo. o Properly terminate any wiring/circuits/conduit exposed during demo.
