Sound system, projector, and lighting upgrades project for multipurpose rooms at the following elementary schools: Dapplegray, Montemalaga, Silver Spur, Soleado, and Vista Grande. Qualifying licensed contractors must possess a valid and active Class C7 Low Voltage and a C10 Electrical Contractors license at the time of bid and throughout the duration of the contract. Bids must be submitted on the forms provided, strictly conforming with and responsive to the Notice Inviting Bids and other Contract Documents. Bids must be accompanied by a bidder's bond, cashier's check, or certified check for ten percent (10%) of the amount of the bid, made payable to the Palos Verdes Peninsula Unified School District, as a guarantee that the bidder will enter into a contract if awarded the work. The contract time is a total of ninety (90) calendar days not to exceed 3 months after signed agreement. The district reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, or any combination of bids, and to waive any irregularities or informalities which may be legally waived. This Scope of Work outlines the requirements and expectations for the SOUND SYSTEM, PROJECTOR, AND LIGHTING UPGRADES PROJECT FOR MULTIPURPOSE ROOMS AT THE FOLLOWING ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS: DAPPLEGRAY, MONTEMALAGA, SILVER SPUR, SOLEADO, AND VISTA GRANDE, as part of Invitation to Bid (ITB) No. 042-26-02-25. The intent of this project is to provide all necessary labor, materials, equipment, and supervision to complete the removal of the existing audiovisual and lighting equipment and furnish, install, test, and commission new sound, projection and lighting systems in the multipurpose rooms of several elementary schools within the district. The upgraded systems shall improve audio clarity, visual presentations, and lighting performance for assemblies, performances and daily school use. Contractors must ensure minimal disruption to school operations and maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times. All work shall be performed in accordance with the specifications and any applicable addenda provided by the District. GENERAL o Provide all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, permits, inspections, and incidentals to complete the work per applicable codes and District standards. o All work shall comply with applicable federal, state, and local codes, including electrical, safety and ADA requirements. o All equipment shall be new, commercial-grade and suitable for educational environments. o Installation shall be clean, professional, and free of visible loose wiring or unsafe conditions. o Coordinate utility shutdowns, access, staging, and daily housekeeping with the district. o Contractor must have a valid California Contractor's License and must be in good standing for the duration of the contract. o Contractor must have a valid State of California Department of Industrial Relations Registration Number and must be in good standing for the duration of the contract. o Contractor must follow the State of California Department of Industrial Relations prevailing wage requirements. EXISTING EQUIPMENT o The contractor shall remove and properly dispose of or deliver to the District all existing sound, projection and lighting equipment, including but not limited to: speakers, amplifiers, mixers, microphones, and associated cabling, projectors, screen mounts and related components, stage and house lighting fixtures, control systems and related wiring. o Patch, repair, and restore affected surfaces (walls, ceilings, mounting joints) to a neat and workmanlike condition where equipment is removed. o Dispose of all debris in accordance with environmental regulations. SOUND SYSTEM The Contractor shall furnish and install a complete sound system, which may include: o Loudspeakers (main, fill, and/or stage monitors as required) o Amplifiers, mixers, and digital signal processing equipment o Wired and/or wireless microphones o Control interfaces suitable for non-technical users o All necessary cabling, mounting hardware, and power connections The sound system shall be: o Designed for clear, evenly distributed audio coverage throughout the multipurpose room o Tuned and tested to eliminate feedback and distortion o Integrated with projection and lighting systems where applicable PROJECTION SYSTEM INSTALLATION The Contractor shall furnish and install projection systems, including: o Projectors with appropriate brightness and resolution for the room size o Projection screens (manual or motorized as specified) o Ceiling or wall mounts, cabling, and control interfaces o Integration with audio systems and existing presentation sources All projection systems shall be aligned, focused, and calibrated for optimal image quality. LIGHTING SYSTEM INSTALLATION The Contractor shall furnish and install upgraded lighting systems, which may include: o Stage and/or house lighting fixtures (LED or equivalent energy-efficient technology) o Lighting control systems, panels, and dimmers o Mounting hardware, wiring, and safety cabling Lighting systems shall: o Provide flexible lighting scenes for assemblies, performances, and general use o Be user-friendly for school staff o Meet all electrical and safety standards ELECTRICAL AND INFASTRUCTURE WORK o Contractor shall provide all required electrical connections, raceways, junction boxes, and terminations necessary for the new systems. o Any required modifications to existing electrical infrastructure shall be included. o All wiring shall be concealed where possible and properly labeled. TESTING, COMMISSIONING AND TRAINING o Contractor shall test all systems to verify proper operation and performance. o Contractor shall provide on-site commissioning and final system adjustments. o Contractor shall provide basic user training for designated school or District staff, including system operation and shutdown procedures. o Contractor shall deliver all manuals, warranties, and as-built documentation. WARRANTY AND SUPPORT o Contractor shall provide a minimum one-year warranty on labor and manufacturer warranties on all equipment. o Contractor shall correct any deficiencies identified during the warranty period at no additional cost to the District. PROJECT CLOSEOUT o Final walkthrough with District representatives o Completion of punch list items o Submission of final documentation and acceptance of work The scope of work at each site is defined as follows: DAPPLEGRAY ELEMENTARY o Sound System o Lighting o Projector MONTEMALAGA ELEMENTARY o Sound System o Lighting o Projector SILVER SPUR ELEMENTARY o Sound System o Lighting o Projector SOLEADO ELEMENTARY o Sound System o Lighting o Projector VISTA GRANDE ELEMENTARY o Sound System o Lighting o Projector The anticipated date of the award of the Contract is February 25, 2026
