Site work for a water / sewer project in Onalaska, Wisconsin. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
As of March 02, 2026, the project was awarded to Gerke Excavating, Inc., with an awarded amount of $311,391.40. The work includes the following: 290 linear feet of 12-inch ductile iron water main, 225 linear feet of free-standing concrete barrier, 1,265 square yards of salvaged topsoil, 160 linear feet of 24-inch steel casing pipe, two jack and bore pits, 320 cubic yards of rock excavation, traffic control per Wisconsin DOT standards, and 1,265 square yards of seed, fertilizer, and mulch, along with additional miscellaneous appurtenances. All work must be performed in accordance with plans, specifications, and forms of contract and bond on file with the City Clerk. Bidders must submit sealed bids only. Each bid must be accompanied by a Certificate of Organization and Authority, a list of subcontractors, approval of pre-qualification, and a certified check or bid bond equal to at least 5% but not more than 10% of the bid, payable to the City as a guarantee. The Bidders Proof of Responsibility form must be filed with the City Clerk by the specified date and demonstrate sufficient financial ability, equipment, and experience. Only bids from qualified bidders will be accepted. All bidders are required to pay minimum rates of pay as established by the Common Council. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities in bidding.
