Sealed bids are requested for a Partial Re-roof totaling approximately 30,250 square feet at Norwalk High School. Lump-sum bids will be received for general construction. Construction may begin after approval of required contracts, bonds, and insurance. The project must be substantially complete before a specified deadline. Bids must be submitted before the stated time and date at the designated location. Late or misdirected bids will not be considered. Bidders must submit a security deposit of not less than 5 percent of the base price/sum by bid bond, cashier's or certified check, or certified share draft. The bid security must be payable to the entity and free of conditions. It will be forfeited if the successful bidder does not enter into a contract within 10 days of award and post required bonds. The successful bidder must provide a certificate of insurance and performance and payment bonds equal to 100% of the contract price. Bids must be irrevocable for 60 days. The project is tax exempt; do not include Iowa State Sales Tax in bid totals. Use Iowa-produced or grown products and provisions whenever possible. Bidders must submit a signed statement of resident status on the specified form. Failure to provide this may result in rejection of the bid. The owner reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, waive informalities or irregularities, and enter into contracts in its best interest.
