The work includes the 2026 Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation project consisting of all labor, materials, and equipment necessary to construct approximately 2,438 linear feet of Cured in Place Pipe (CIPP) sewer main lining, pre and post internal video inspection, pre-rehabilitation cleaning, root cutting, protruding service removal, service reinstatement, pressure testing of service connections, injection grouting of service connections, mobilization, traffic control, miscellaneous work, and cleanup. Bids must be filed using forms furnished by the City and obtained from the designated engineering firm. Each bid must be accompanied by bid security as defined in Iowa Code Section 26.8 as security that the successful bidder will enter into a contract and provide a corporate surety bond for the faithful performance of the contract in an amount equal to 100% of the contract. The successful bidder must furnish a surety bond guaranteeing faithful performance, payment of material and labor, harmless protection of the City from damages, and maintenance for four years after acceptance. Contractors and subcontractors are required to obtain project-specific tax exemption certificates. Lien waivers must be provided prior to final payment. Failure to complete the project by the specified date will result in daily liquidated damages. Preference is given to Iowa products, provisions, coal, and domestic labor. Resident bidders are given preference over nonresident bidders if their states provide similar preferences. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive informalities, and enter into contracts as deemed in the City's best interest.
