The Town of Moriah seeks qualifications for New York State licensed professional engineering firms or licensed engineering teams to prepare design services regarding the Town’s Water Plant Rejection Reservoir. Engineering services are needed to address sludge accumulation in the water plant rejection reservoirs for Water Districts #1 and #2 (Moriah) and Water District #3 (Port Henry). The project involves two sites: the Moriah reservoirs at 15 Kelsi Way, Mineville, NY, and the Port Henry reservoir at 26 Pumphouse Lane, Port Henry, NY. Current operations result in backwash discharges that have led to sludge buildup, reducing reservoir performance and causing effluent water to approach regulatory limits. The goal is to remove and properly dispose of the sludge and connect reject water to the municipal sewer system, including non-district users, directing flows to the Town’s Wastewater Treatment Facility. This solution will eliminate reliance on the reservoirs, reduce costly ongoing sludge hauling, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
