The University of Pittsburgh is planning a new 400-bed student housing development in Oakland, near the Cathedral of Learning. The project will be located at the corner of Fifth and Bellefield Avenues, replacing the existing Music Building. Pitt is currently soliciting architects and construction firms for the project, indicating that design and preconstruction phases are imminent. As of May 11, 2026, a design firm, construction manager, and general contractor has not been released. Further details regrding firm construction and completion timelines have not been identified.
