This is a road surface rehabilitation project involving crushing and shaping existing asphalt surfaces, with some projects including stabilization with hot asphalt cement. The work requires specialized crushing equipment, CDL compliance, contract bonds per MDOT specifications, and insurance coverage including $1M liability. The contractor must furnish all necessary machinery, tools, apparatus, and other means of construction, complete all the work, and provide all the materials at the unit prices named in the itemized bid, in strict accordance with the plans and the current edition of the MDOT Specifications for Construction and any attached supplemental specifications. The bidder is responsible for ensuring CDL compliance for all employees or subcontractors and for testing materials to guarantee specification compliance. If needed, an independent firm can be retained for testing materials, with costs shared equally. Contractors must provide valid certificates of Workers' Compensation, Disability Insurance, and Liability Insurance naming Clinton County Road Commission as additional insured before work begins. Minimum insurance requirements include $1,000,000 for auto liability, property damage, and comprehensive commercial liability. The Clinton County Road Commission reserves the right to accept any part or all of the bid and to award an alternate bid as a backup supplier. The contract may be renewed for additional one-year terms by mutual agreement, with pricing, terms, and conditions remaining the same. Payment will be made 30 days from the invoice date upon approval. Clinton County Road Commission is tax exempt. Title VI assurances apply, with no discrimination against Disadvantaged Business Enterprise firms or on grounds of race, color, sex, age, national origin, or handicap for award consideration.
