The City of Middleburg Heights, in cooperation with the Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District (NEORSD), the Cuyahoga County Department of Public Works (CCDPW), and the City of Brook Park, is planning to replace the Sheldon Road Bridge over Abram Creek within the cities of Middleburg Heights and Brook Park. The purpose of the project is to address the deteriorating condition of the existing bridge and to improve the safety and reliability for motorists, pedestrians, and emergency services. The proposed work includes complete bridge replacement, approach roadway reconstruction, and restoration of disturbed areas. Construction is anticipated to begin in Fall 2026 and will require temporary closure of Sheldon Road with a signed detour. Local access to residences, nearby parks, and businesses will be maintained throughout the project. Project funding is being provided by the NEORSD, CCDPW, the City of Middleburg Heights, and the City of Brook Park. The project is included in the County 2026-2030 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). As of February 23, 2026, per owner, plans are being developed, construction in Fall 2026. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
