Site work for a communication facility in Clay City, Indiana. Completed plans call for site work for a communication facility.
Clay Community Schools seeks bids to supply and install an outdoor single-mode fiber optic cable run at Clay City Jr/Sr High School. The project involves installing approximately 1100 lineal feet of 48-strand single-mode fiber optic cable from the school to the concession stand, with 36 strands terminated in the concession stand cabinet, six strands extended to the press box, and six to the fuel pump, each terminated into vendor-supplied shelves in IDF/MDF. The fiber run must be installed in 2" conduit and bored under the existing parking lot, with all outdoor fiber being buried to a minimum depth of 36 inches unless otherwise agreed upon. Cable markers, hand holes, and tracer wire are required as specified. The contractor is responsible for providing all equipment, cabling, hardware, labor, and for locating underground lines. All terminations must meet or exceed TIA/EIA-568-B.1 ratings, be tested according to BISCI and ANSI/TIA/EIA standards, and conflicts must be brought to the project team's attention. Indoor installation must use cable trays where available, otherwise with hooks or enclosed conduit, and should not use sprinkler pipes, electrical conduits, or insulated ceiling joists for support. Ceiling tiles must not be used to support wiring, and penetrations must be protected and sealed appropriately. All cabling must be labeled on both termination points. Bidders must provide per-run pricing for all bid items, include two reference sites for similar work (preferably one within 90 miles, for a school district or library system), provide an E-Rate SPIN Number, and submit a contract including proposal requirements and E-Rate contingencies. Bids must be specific to the services listed, and not general menus or automatically generated responses. The district reserves the right to reject any and all bids, waive informalities, and extend deadlines as needed. The project is contingent upon district approval and acquisition of Category 2 E-Rate funding, and may be substantially scaled back or canceled at the district's discretion regardless of E-Rate status. Questions/Site Visits A mandatory site visit will be held at Clay City Jr/Sr High School at 10:00 am on January 14,2026.
