WATER MAIN IMPROVEMENTS - TRIPP AVENUE Proposals must be submitted on the forms provided by the Engineer. A certified check, bank draft, or bid bond payable to the Village of Alsip in an amount not less than ten percent of the bid must be submitted with each proposal as a guarantee that, if accepted, a contract will be entered into and performance properly secured. A performance bond in a sum equal to one hundred percent of the amount of the bid, with approved sureties, must be furnished by the successful bidder. Bidders must comply with all laws relating to the employment of labor and payment of the general prevailing rate of hourly wages in the locality of the work, including rates for legal holiday and overtime work. The contractor must also comply with all applicable Federal, State, and local regulations. The President and Board of Trustees reserve the right to reject any or all proposals, waive technicalities, postpone the bid opening, or advertise for new proposals as they deem in the best interest of the Village. Pre-qualification requirements: Prequalifications must be submitted to the Engineer by all potential bidders. The Contractor must have sufficient experience and must demonstrate completion of at least five directionally drilled municipal water main type projects in Illinois or Indiana in the last ten years, with water main work representing at least $750,000 of the contract. If, in the opinion of the Engineer and the President and Board of Trustees, an applicant would not serve the best interest of the Village, a proposal will not be issued to the applicant.
