Collection and Disposal of Residential and Business Refuse. Sealed bids will be publicly opened for the Collection and Disposal of Residential and Business Refuse. Bidders must comply with all applicable laws regulating the practice of General Contracting as required by the General Statutes of North Carolina. Each bid equal to or exceeding $100,000 must include a corporate bid bond or certified check in the amount of at least 5% of the total bid, executed by a corporate surety licensed in North Carolina. Bidders must provide a copy of the North Carolina General Contractor's License, including the License Number, Classification(s), and Limits. The itemized proposal form provided by the City must be used, and the Project Manual must be submitted in its entirety without alteration. Bids must include an affidavit confirming compliance with E-Verify for all bidders and subcontractors. Bids may be mailed or hand-delivered and must be labeled with the Project Name, Contractor's Name, and Bid Opening date and time. Bids submitted via facsimile will not be accepted. Bids may be held by the City for up to sixty (60) calendar days from the opening date for review and investigation of qualifications. Bidders must ensure equal employment opportunity for all employees and applicants, regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, or veteran status.
