The School District of Greenville County is seeking bid responses for a Store Front and Window Replacement Project at Buena Vista Elementary School in accordance with the Specifications and Terms and Conditions of this solicitation. The project consists of the Removal and Replacement of Exterior Doors, Exterior Store Front Systems and Windows, along with Soffit and Exterior Ceiling Repairs. Buena Vista Elementary School is located at 310 Batesville Road, Greer, South Carolina 29650. Further details are provided in the Scope of Work and Attachment sections of this solicitation. Verbal questions/comments shall not be addressed at any time. The School District of Greenville County (District) invites interested firms to submit a Bid to provide Store Front and Window Replacement - Buena Vista Elementary for Greenville County Schools students in accordance with the specifications and terms and conditions of this solicitation. District staff will coordinate with awarded vendor after issuance of award. The Invitation for Bid solicitation method shall be used to select one or multiple firms that meets the requirements of the solicitation. This solicitation does not commit the District to award a contract, to pay any costs incurred in the preparation of the response to this solicitation or to procure any goods or services. No other District personnel or representative of the District shall be contacted regarding this solicitation or the evaluation process. Vendors that attempt to contact other District personnel or representatives or obtain information in any way other than the authorized method, which is in writing to the Procurement Officer, may have that firm's bid rejected. The awarded Bidder(s) is expected to fulfill all of the requirements and duties contained in this solicitation as directed by the District's Superintendent or his designee. A proposal shall consist of details for the provision and management of the services envisioned in the Specifications, in accordance with the requirements described in this solicitation. The detailed Specifications are provided in a later section. The School District of Greenville County is located in the Upstate of South Carolina with approximately 78,000 students and 11,000 employees. The District was established in 1951. The District consists of more than 100 schools, career centers and other facilities. Bidder(s) can gain more information on the District and its standards by entering the District's website. The scope of work includes, but is not limited to, the responsibilities listed in this IFB and any future authorized, amended documents related to this solicitation. If the Bidder takes any exceptions to any part of the solicitation, include the exceptions with the bid on a separate page titled "Exceptions to Bid Criteria." Buena Vista Elementary School is located at 310 Batesville Road, Greer, South Carolina 29650, originally constructed in 1982 with a two-story addition in 2008. The project will primarily focus on the building envelope repairs of the original building. The project entails the removal and replacement of exterior doors, exterior store front systems and windows. Along with soffit and exterior ceiling repairs. Asbestos abatement will be included within the project as asbestos-containing materials were discovered in black caulk/sealant of the exterior doors and windows, and in the black mastic of floor tiles. The Limited Asbestos & Lead Paint Survey Report is included in the Specifications. The General Contractor will be responsible for employing a contractor that specialize in asbestos abatement and an air-quality testing company. VOC-Content-Restricted Products are to be used for this project. Required VOC maximums must be within the limits described in SCAQMD 1113 and SCAQMD 1168. Work under this Contract consists of furnishing all labor, materials and equipment necessary to perform the quality window glass repair and replacement at Buena Vista ES, as shown on the Drawings. The work will include, but is not necessarily limited to, the following: 1. Remove the existing storefront wall system the drawings along with existing trim and associated flashing. 2. Remove the existing windows, mullions, and glazing and associated trim, flooring, painting, ceiling and wall elements necessary to install new windows shown. 3. Replacement with new window system, trim and associated flashing. 4. Furnish and Install new storefront wall units. 5. Furnish and install new setting blocks. 6. Furnish and install new joint plugs. 7. Furnish and install new exterior gaskets. 8. Furnish and install new pressure plates as needed. 9. Furnish and install new cover plates. 10. Furnish and install new sealant over the exterior gaskets. 11. Furnish and install new backer rods and sealant at joints and adjacent walls. 12. Furnish and install any miscellaneous items as required for a complete system. 13. Furnish and install windows, mullions, and glazing and associated trim. 14. Furnish and install associated flooring, painting, ceiling and wall elements necessary to install new windows within two feet adjacent to the area of window replacement work. 15. Furnish and install associated flooring, painting, ceiling and wall elements necessary to install new storefront within two feet adjacent to the area of window replacement work. 16. Furnish and install any miscellaneous items Including but limited to wood blocking, masonry repair, tuck-pointing and light gage framing as required for a complete system. 17. Remove all existing soffit and perimeter frame and prepare new surface for installation of new soffit per manufacturer recommendations. See Specifications and drawings for detailed scope of work. 18.
