A. The work under these specifications involves work within public right-of-way and work on private property from the State Highway 11 (Main Street) right-of-way to the Villages wastewater treatment facility along Riverside Drive. The work includes the replacement of the existing sanitary sewers, clearing and grubbing of the easement, and restoration of the site with new lawn or grass mixes as shown. B. The project work generally includes the replacement of existing sanitary sewer and laterals. The Contractorshall be responsible for providing bypass piping for the existing 8" and 10" interceptor. 1. The WWTF averages about 60,000 gpd of flow and this interceptor handles the majority of that flow. While flows are generally less than 50 gpm, the Contractor shall be prepared to pump a minimum of 300 gpm in the event of a peak event. 2. The Contractor may pump from manhole to manhole for bypass operations as needed. The Contractor must provide a bypass pumping plan for the project at the Preconstruction Meeting Question Deadline 02/13/2026 Bidder shall submit all questions about the meaning or intent of the Bidding Documents to Engineer in writing. Questions received less than five days prior to the date for opening of Bids may not be answered. The replacement of an 8-inch and 10-inch sanitary sewer interceptor, including approximately 730 lineal feet of 8-inch diameter sanitary sewer, 400 lineal feet of 10-inch diameter sanitary sewer, and 64 vertical feet of 48-inch sanitary manhole masonry. Each bidder must deposit, with his bid, security in the amount of 5% of the maximum bid amount. Bidders must be experienced in municipal pipeline construction. The Village of Benton reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive informalities in any bid. Bidders must be pre-qualified with the Village of Benton within the last year or must be pre-qualified for this work 5 days prior to the bid deadline in accordance with Section 66.0901 of the Wisconsin Statutes.
