The contractor shall provide all supervision, labor, materials, equipment, tools, services, and testing necessary to complete the project in accordance with the construction drawings and specifications. Work includes demolition of walls, floors, ceilings, equipment, HVAC systems, and electrical components; site work including fencing, excavation, grading, paving, and protection of existing utilities; and construction of architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical improvements. The contractor shall remove and properly dispose of materials and equipment not designated for reuse and shall locate existing utilities prior to any excavation or site work. The project requires phased construction to maintain uninterrupted kitchen operations and meal services during renovation activities. The existing kitchen is located on the second floor of Building 5, while the renovation work will occur on the first floor. The contractor shall coordinate closely with other ongoing construction projects and contractors to minimize disruption to hospital operations. Work includes installation of Government-furnished kitchen equipment and storage of equipment in a temperature- and humidity-controlled environment until installation. Submittal management, project tracking, quality control, site safety, personnel badging requirements, and coordination of night or weekend work necessary to maintain hospital functionality are included. The contractor shall provide a dedicated site superintendent, site safety and health officer, and quality control manager throughout the project.
