The project generally consists of paving the driveways, replacing existing sidewalks, installing ADA access with ramp, a new door, gutters, and constructing retaining wall The scope of work includes Borough Hall ADA Improvements for the Borough of Shoemakersville, Berks County. Bids are to be submitted online via the PennBid Program. A pre-bid meeting and site visit are recommended but not required. Bidders must submit any questions through PennBid. The apparent low bidder and the next two lowest bidders must provide original Bidding Documents to the Engineer within two business days of the bid opening. Reproduction of the Bidding Documents and their placement on websites other than PennBid is prohibited. Bids must remain open for a specified period based on approval processes. The project is subject to the Prevailing Minimum Wage Determination established by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry. Each bid must include bid security equal to 10% of the bid total. The successful bidder must provide a 100% performance bond, 100% payment bond, and 10% maintenance bond within 15 days after the Notice of Intent to Award. At least 50% of the work must be performed by the prime bidder's own workforce. Bidders must have a minimum of five years and five projects of documented experience in this type of work. All personnel involved must be lawfully permitted to work in the United States and Pennsylvania. Compliance with Act 127 of 2012, the Public Works Employment Verification Act, is required.
