Construct Single bituminous seal coat application. PennDOT approved design required as per Bulletin 27. Seal coat design to be based on: #8 stone 1.0% loss by wash, less than 100 ADT, condition of existing surface category (c) Slightly pocked, porous, and oxidized surface, CRS-2PM (E-3M) Emulsion. All workmanship and material to be in compliance with PennDOT Publication 408, Section 470. Proof of PennDOT calibration of chipper and distributor required. Enough rubber tire rollers required to cover seal coat application in a single pass. 2025 Shoemakersville Road Program Bids for this Contract shall be accompanied by a Bid Security in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the Bid. All Bids shall be effective for sixty (60) calendar days. Questions Due Date: Apr 18th 2025, 3:00 PM EDT Work generally consists of 8057 square yards of Double Bituminous Seal Coat as per Pub 408 Section 470 and 18662 square yards of Single Bituminous Seal Coat as per Pub 408 Section 470. Liquid Fuels funds will be utilized for funding for a portion of this project, and all materials and work must conform to the most recent edition of PennDOT Publication 408 unless otherwise specified. Bidders are to be PennDOT prequalified in the work described. Proposals must be upon the forms furnished by the Borough. Liquidated damages apply at the rate of $975 per calendar day A performance bond or certified check in the amount of 100% of the contract shall be furnished by the successful bidder within 20 days after the contract is awarded. The Borough Council of Shoemakersville reserves the right to reject any or all Bids or portions thereof, and to accept any Bid, or portion of Bid, which in its judgement is in the best interest of the Borough. The Borough of Shoemakersville and their representatives are not responsible for Bids not received.
