Sealed bids are requested for the Inis Grove Park Drainage Ravine Stabilization project, which includes the clearing and grubbing of approximately 0.54 acres, 1,060 CY of Class 10 Excavation (On-Site), 200 CY of Class 10 Excavation (Waste), construction of multiple rock check dams and plunge pools with approximately 1,820 tons of Class C Revetment and 280 tons of Erosion Stone, installation of 48 LF of 24-inch RCP storm sewer, 50 LF of 36-inch RCP, removal of 60 LF of existing storm sewer, installation of three concrete pipe aprons with footings, two storm sewer manholes (48-inch and 60-inch), replacement of one manhole casting, 1,000 LF of 9-inch Filter Socks and removal thereof, 300 SY of Temporary Rolled Erosion Control Product, 0.74 acres of Hydromulch (BFM), 0.39 acres of conventional turf seeding, 0.35 acres of un-mowed seeding, 145 SY of grid-tied concrete block matting, 785 LF of temporary orange safety fence, 170 tons of stabilized construction exit, and related work in accordance with the contract documents. Bids must be made using the Proposal Form furnished by the City of Ames, in a sealed and plainly marked envelope. Each bid must be accompanied by bid security as defined in Code of Iowa Section 26.8. Successful bidders are required to furnish a corporate surety bond for 100% of the contract price. Work must be completed by December 31, 2026. Failure to complete the work on time will result in liquidated damages of $1,000 per calendar day. Contractors should not include sales or use taxes in their bids. Preference will be given to Iowa products, provisions, coal, and labor as required by law. Minority business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids and will not be discriminated against on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, age, or disability in consideration for an award.
