The City of Cranbrook is inviting bids from qualified parties for the crushing of stockpiled asphalt and concrete at the City of Cranbrook Public Works Yard, located at 201 Cobham Ave W. The City is looking to crush approximately 3303 m3 of asphalt and concrete accumulated from road, sidewalk, and building demolitions into 50mm (2") minus material. The pile consists of asphalt, concrete, and brick. The successful Bidder will provide equipment for crushing and stockpiling material at the Public Works Yard. The successful Bidder must provide a magnet for removing metal from the crushed material. There are large pieces of concrete that will require breaking before being able to be crushed. The successful contractor shall possess the means of breaking large concrete into crushable-sized pieces. The crushed material must be added to the existing crushed composite pile adjacent to the stockpile to be crushed. The contractor must possess the means of piling the newly created material and keeping the area tidy. Work will be permitted between the hours of 7:00 AM and 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday. The survey conducted on January 16, 2026, shows that the pile is 3303 m3. The survey report can be seen in Appendix A - McElhanney Survey Report. The City of Cranbrook anticipates a mid-March start date and a latest completion date of the end of April.
