Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in South Elgin, Illinois. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; for paving for a bridge / tunnel; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.
Description of Work: The work consists of constructing a concrete overlay on the bridge deck and approach slabs of the existing structure and recon structing the expansion joints at each end of the bridge. The work also consists of hot mix asphalt resurfacing; spot curb and gutter removal and replacement; and sidewalk removal and replacement. The Village has deter mined that the work of this contract is subject to the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act. Accordingly, Contractor shall there fore comply with the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act and shall pay, and require every Subcontractor to pay, the prevailing rates of wages as established by the Illinois Department of Labor for each craft or type of work needed to execute the contract in accordance with 820 ILCS 130/.01 et seq. Contractor must comply with all applicable laws, including having the requisite policies prohibiting sexual harassment and implementing a substance abuse prevention program. Contractor must like wise ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, color, religion, sex, or national origin. The Contractor is required to be IDOT prequalified to bid on this project.
