The work includes glovebag work at three locations as identified on the drawings at the North Campus. The General Contractor will open ceilings, the Abatement Contractor will set up mini-containments, abate, the area will be cleared, and the Abatement Contractor will take down containments. If overtime is required to meet the schedule, it must be included in the bid. No change order for overtime pay will be approved for base bid work. Bids must be delivered in a sealed envelope prior to the specified time. Bids shall include a properly completed proposal form in duplicate, adherence to prevailing hourly wage rates as determined by the Illinois Department of Labor, and bid security in the amount of 5% of the bid. Specifications and drawings will be available for purchase or download. Bidders must be prequalified with the State of Illinois, Department of Public Health, and meet the requirements of the latest edition of the Illinois Asbestos Abatement Act and Rules and Regulations. Bidders must be prepared to submit evidence of prequalification and a current audited financial statement upon request. All bids must include a certification that the contractor is not barred from bidding as a result of violations specified in Section 33 E-3 or 33 E-4 of Article 33E, Public Act 85-1295. Bids must be accompanied by a bid bond, certified check, or cashier's check in the amount of 5% of the bid. Failure to submit the required bid security is cause for rejection. The successful bidder will be required to provide Surety Performance Bond and Labor and Material Payment Bond, each equal to 100 percent of the contract price. The owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and waive any irregularity in bidding.
