Sealed bids are invited for Learning Center Mechanical Improvements at West Aurora Learning Center. Lump sum bid proposals are required. Each bid must be accompanied by a Bid Guarantee in the form of a Bid Bond, Certified Check, or Bank Draft in an amount equal to at least ten percent (10%) of the bid, payable to West Aurora School District #129. No bids can be withdrawn for sixty (60) days after the bid opening without owner consent. Unsuccessful Bidder checks or drafts will be returned after bid opening and checking. The successful Bidder must provide a Performance Bond and a Labor and Material Payment Bond for the contracts full amount, acceptable to the Owner. Bids must be submitted in an opaque sealed envelope, clearly marked as SEALED BID and addressed as specified. The Board of Education reserves the right to reject any or all bids or parts, or waive irregularities or informalities in bidding. The contract is subject to the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act. Each Bidder must satisfactorily complete the qualification process described in Section 004395 - General Requirements by submitting required Qualification Documents with their sealed bid. Qualification Documents will be available for public review and will be used to determine the lowest responsible Bidder. Bidding documents will be available of drawings, project manuals, plus all issued addenda, obtainable electronically and at the Bidder's expense. A mandatory pre-bid meeting walk-through for general contractors will be held on-site. Subcontractors are encouraged, but not required to attend. After the pre-bid meeting, site visits can be made to gather additional information and ask questions. There will be only one scheduled site walk-through and attendance will be recorded; non-attendance may lead to rejection of bid.
