Renovation of an educational facility in Montgomery, New Jersey. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 20,933-square-foot educational facility.
The scope of the project includes the removal of the existing roof, which is out of warranty and beyond its useful life, and the installation of a new built up roofing system. The Contract Documents define the full project scope. Bids are to be submitted for a lump sum price for the entire project, all trades, all inclusive. Bidders must be pre-qualified by the New Jersey Department of Treasury, Division of Property Management and Construction (DPMC) in one of the following categories: (C068) Roofing Membrane Modified Bitumen or (C070) Roofing-Built Up. Bidders and subcontractors for each of the major branches of work must be prequalified by the DPMC. Bidders must submit a Certificate of Prequalification/Classification from the New Jersey Department of Treasury, Division of Property Management and Construction (DPMC) and an Affidavit as to the Total Amount of Uncompleted Contracts for themselves and all listed subcontractors for whom DPMC prequalification is required. The successful bidder will be required to execute a contract as specified. No modifications to the Instructions to Bidders, General Conditions, Supplemental Conditions or Specifications will be permitted prior to bid acceptance except as allowed by addenda. Bids proposing modifications to requirements will be rejected as non-responsive. Bidders are required to comply with all applicable legal requirements, including submission of an Initial Project Workforce Report (Form AA-201), a Statement of Ownership, current Public Works Contractor Registration Act certification, and a Business Registration Certificate prior to contract award. Bids must be accompanied by bid security in the form of a bid bond or certified or cashier's check payable to the Montgomery Township Board of Education equal to 10% of the amount of the bid (not to exceed $20,000), and a Certificate of Consent of Surety. The successful bidder will be required to furnish additional bonds as specified. The Board of Education reserves the right to reject any non-responsive bids or all bids and to waive minor informalities or non-material exceptions.
