Fire Smart work to be completed within the municipal boundaries of the Town of Hinton. The treatment plan involves manual methods performed by a Fire Smart crew comprised of four to eight (4-8) persons. The crew will have faller/bucker capabilities and will treat all 28.03 hectares. The methods to employ will be: Thinning, Pruning, Down and Dead Removal and Pile and Burn for debris management. The re-treatment area will focus on down and dead removal, shrub and coniferous tree regeneration. Deciduous trees will not be fallen unless they are danger trees or standing dead. Proper danger tree assessment shall be conducted through out the project. It is anticipated that the crew will accomplish 1 to 1.25 hectares per day, including the pile and burn debris management. The project should take no more than three weeks to complete, barring any unforeseen circumstances.
