The City of West Bend, Wisconsin, reserves the right to reject any or all bids, subject to the provisions of Sections 62.15 and 66.0901 of the Wisconsin Statutes. No bid shall be withdrawn for a period of 60 days after the scheduled time of opening bids. The letting of work described herein is subject to the provisions of Section 66.0901 Wisconsin Statutes, as it applies to work done under this contract. No bid will be received unless accompanied by an uploaded Bid Bond or electronic Surety2000 bid bond equal to 5% of the bid, payable to the City of West Bend, Wisconsin, as a guarantee that, if the bid is accepted, the successful bidder will execute and file the contract and payment and performance assurances, forming a part of the Specifications, within 10 days after the award of the contract. The payment and performance assurances must be for an amount at least equal to the contract price and must be in the form of a bond, an irrevocable letter of credit, or an escrow account acceptable to the City. In case the bidder fails to file such contract, performance bond, and payment bond, the amount of the check or bid bond shall be forfeited to the City as liquidated damages (Section 62.15(3) of Wisconsin Statutes) This project consists of the removal and replacement of existing water main, sanitary sewer, and storm sewer infrastructure, along with roadway reconstruction on Heather Drive from Eder Lane to Sylvan Way. Water utility repair work at the following locations: Paradise Drive, east of Eisenbahn Trail. Progress Drive, west of the Creek/ Culvert. Storm Sewer Improvements at 1148 Park Avenue. Base bid specific work under this contract will consist of replacing 8-inch vitrified clay sanitary sewer main with 8-inch polyvinylchloride (PVC), replacing 6-inch cast iron watermain with 8-inch PVC watermain, and the replacement and upsizing of existing storm sewer. All sewer structures and water appurtenances are to be removed and replaced with new. The roadway is to be excavated to one foot behind the proposed curb and gutter. Aggregate base course will be placed to these extents. Concrete curb and gutter will be installed as indicated on the plan set. Sidewalk removal and replacement, or installation, will be done as per field identification by the City or Engineer. Asphalt pavement will be replaced. Disturbed areas will be restored.
