The work includes pumping, cleaning, and disposing of both liquid and solid wastes from various end-of-line best management practices (BMP) storm runoff treatment systems/units owned by the City of Santa Monica. The contractor must provide a Super Sucker truck, hoses, and other equipment to clean sub-surface vaults up to 50 feet in depth and dispose of all wastes in accordance with regulations. Staff working in sewer diversion units must be trained in confined space entry and be able to operate with a full-face respirator. Approved traffic control plans and truck route permits must be supplied before cleaning treatment units. Service is scheduled as needed, and 24/7 availability is required. A monthly report on waste generated must be provided. Locations include various storm runoff systems and one pump station. All CDS units must be serviced by a Super Sucker truck. Oil-water interceptor units also require periodic cleaning. Quarterly cleaning and a response time of three hours for non-scheduled maintenance and two hours for emergency response are required. Minimum of five years of similar experience is required. All bid submissions must be electronic, use city-supplied forms, and comply with prevailing wage laws.
