The Rhode Island Department of Corrections (DOC) is seeking quotes from qualified vendors to remove and replace the existing cooling tower, which has exceeded its expected service life and is no longer operational due to significant structural deterioration and mechanical failure. SCOPE OF WORK AND REQUIREMENTS 1. Demolition & Removal o Disconnect all mechanical, electrical, and control connections serving the existing cooling tower. o Remove the existing unit in its entirety, including deteriorated components and associated accessories. o Properly dispose of all debris in accordance with applicable regulations. 2. Cooling Tower Replacement o Furnish and install a new cooling tower matching the existing unit's specifications, footprint, capacity, horsepower, and required accessories. o Replacement unit to include: Baltibond base unit Stainless steel (SST) hot and cold water basins Equivalent or upgraded manufacturer accessories as required for a complete installation. 3. Mechanical & Piping Modifications o Re-pipe connections as necessary to align with the new tower configuration. o Replace or add valves, fittings, and supports as needed to ensure proper system operation. 4. Electrical & Controls o Reconnect all electrical feeds, motors, and control wiring. o Modify conduit or wiring as required to meet current code and ensure full functionality. 5. Startup, Testing & Commissioning o Coordinate startup with the manufacturer's representative. o Verify proper operation of fans, motors, water flow, and basin functions. o Ensure the system is fully functional and compliant with operational requirements. 6. Closeout Requirements o Provide O&M manuals, warranty documentation, and product data. o Submit as-built drawings. o Provide training for facility maintenance personnel as required.
