PROGRAMMING: The CFD Fire Alarm Division is the ONLY entity authorized to assign the box number and program the radio box. INSTALLATION: A. B. Antenna: Standard installation should only require the antenna provided with the unit; however, some locations may require a 6 dB high gain external antenna. Cable used for any external antenna shall be a minimum of type LMR-400. Distances will affect the cable type to be used. The Cranston Fire Dept. Fire Alarm Division must be contacted for additional information regarding either a standard 3 dB or a 6dB high gain antenna installation. Lightning protection shall be provided for all external antennas. Final determination of the antenna used will be made by the CFD Fire Alarm Division. The antenna shall not be enclosed in metal, or in close proximity to metal, running parallel to antenna. The antenna shall be installed at least 18 inches away from any metal conduits.
