Sealed bids will be accepted from qualified contractors for the Oscoda Area Schools 2026 Asbestos Abatement project. A pre-bid site inspection meeting will be held for bidders to become familiar with the site conditions and secure necessary measurements. Specifications will be available online. A bid security in the amount of five percent (5%) of the base bid amount is required and shall accompany the bid, in the form of a bid bond, cashier's check, or money order. (NAS) has been retained by the OWNER to provide third-party environmental consulting services in connection with this project. NAS's scope of services is limited to environmental observation, air monitoring, visual inspections, and clearance testing as required by the Contract Documents and applicable regulations. Responsibility for execution of the WORK, compliance with the Project Schedule, jobsite safety, and adherence to all applicable regulatory requirements rests solely with the CONTRACTOR. Oscoda Area Schools is seeking bids from qualified bidders to perform asbestos abatement at the Richardson Middle School and Oscoda High School. These Project Specifications are intended to provide interested bidders all of the information necessary to submit a bid for the WORK. The WORK shall be completed by a State of Michigan licensed asbestos abatement CONTRACTOR with only accredited abatement workers and abatement supervisors completing the work in accordance with the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA) requirements.
